ABOUT NGO-IDEAs PARTNERSHIP WITH WEDTRUST:
NGO-IDEAs
is a unique project, which is to be implemented with the cooperation
of 32 Indian and 14 German NGOs. The aim is at
recording the impact of NGO work and simultaneously, Identifying and
improving NGO-specific tools for impact monitoring and evaluation.
The
basic concept of NGO-IDEAs evolved out of a
working group of German NGOs, in cooperation with the Association of
Development NGOs ( VENRO ). The project is co-funded by the German
Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
The main
thrust of this project is
a) Assess the existing system of
impact monitoring and evaluation systems of NGOs working in the area
of savings and credit programs.
b) Assess the impact of project
work of such NGOs at the beneficiary / community level, and
c) Thereafter by a process of
continuo's interaction, discussion and sharing between NGO partners,
improve the tools for better impact monitoring and evaluation.
The
project which is to run from July 2004 to July 2007 is at present at
the end of its second phase-collection and documentation. In the last 10 months (March – December ) our
partners shared their savings & credit programs and the various
tools they use for impact monitoring and evaluation through process
called monthly tasks.
We will be presenting the outcome of this stage
a draft preliminary report in the upcoming workshop in February 6-9
2005 at KKID. This is again a planning workshop for the year 2006. Partners sit together and plan and chart the projects
course of direction.
NGO-IDEAs
is a historical project for the German NGOs, as it intends to
identify and develop jointly with partners from the south and the "North" genuine concepts and tools of & for NGOs. The project is also complex with a unique combination of :
